About Discovery City

Helping children rediscover fun one smile at a time.

Established in 2024, Discovery City Children's Museum is a subsidiary of the City of Port Huron and will open to the public in the fall of 2024. Thank you to the Community Foundation of St. Clair County and the Knowlton family for making this possible.

At Discovery City, children from toddlers to elementary age will meet the Michigan early learning standards through adventurous play, while exploring each of the exhibits. Each exhibit will include one or more of the following areas...

  • Approaches to play and learning

  • Physical development and health

  • Social and emotional development

  • Creative and expressive arts

  • STEM

  • Social studies

  • Communication, language and early literature development

Learning Through Play

Play can help children learn and develop in many different ways. Studies have shown that play can improve physical, social, cognitive, and emotional well-being in children. Who knew play can be fun and beneficial!
